Metala Shiraz Cabernet 2022, Langhorne Creek, AUD $20
Metala, a substantial vineyard established in 1881, is back in the hands of the Adams family, with Guy Adams running the show.
The colour is deep and it has a meaty/earthy, gently pepper-spiced bouquet, with dried herbs and a whiff of toasty oak. There’s good intensity, drive and length—especially considering the price. There’s a twinge of astringency and a grip of tannin, which would vanish with food. Top value. (Screwcap)
