Hidden Creek Joven Tempranillo 2023, Granite Belt, AUD $40

In Spanish joven means young and traditionally those wines would be drunk in the year of production.

Bright purple and ruby colours dazzle in the glass. Plum, lavender and cinnamon spice aromas leap out and carry through to the juicy dark fruit palate. There’s a serious crunch of acidity which works in the context of the youthful joy the wine shows, with enough spice and dry herbs to add some other notes to the medium length finish. Serve slightly chilled for extra summer refreshment. (Screwcap)
