, ‘Wine shouldn’t make you drunk,’ says Carla Bruni-Sarkozy

The model and former First Lady of France has said that good wine shouldn’t leave you feeling intoxicated as she prepares to launch the latest vintage of her Provence rosé. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, who made a name for herself in fashion modelling and music before becoming France’s First Lady during her husband’s tenure as president from 2007-2012, is gearing up to launch the latest vintage of her rosé wine. Produced by Château D’Estoublon, the Provence estate co-owned by Bruni-Sarkozy and her husband, as well as two other major parties, Roseblood d’Estoublon Vintage 2023 will hit the US market this month. Notably, the former presidential pair went into business with wine industry royalty to buy and develop the 300ha Château D’Estoublon estate and launch its flagship rosé, the first commercial vintage of which was 2021. Former Domaines Barons de Rothschild CEO Jean-Guillaume Prats is a co-owner, having also previously headed up the wine division for Moët Hennessy and spent 14 years as CEO of his family estate Cos d’Estournel in St-Estéphe before it was sold to Michel Reybier. French entrepreneur Stéphane Courbit, chairman of Banijay Group, is also a partner in the business. Courbit heads up the world’s largest independent television production and distribution company (worth more than €3 billion), responsible for shows including Temptation Island, Survivor, Wife Swap and Versailles. Roseblood d’Estoublon Vintage 2023 is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Rolle, and falls under the AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation. The wine will be distributed in the US by importer
