I first visited Decant Urban Winery five years ago and on a recent trip to Houston, I had to make sure I revisited to see what was new. The winery is owned by Kristina and Ron Tucker and Kristina is also the winemaker.
The winery also opened five years ago and at the time of my previous visit, there were plans to remodel the production area to make that event space be a larger tasting room and the front entrance would be changed to be located on the side. When I arrived at the winery on my recent visit, I parked on the side expecting the entrance to be there, but it wasn’t. I went to the front of the winery and the entrance was still there as before.
When I entered the winery, the tasting room had changed somewhat though. The tasting bar used to be on the right side of the room, but a wall had been changed and the tasting bar was now on the further wall with the production area viewable from the glass.
Kristina Tucker was there and surprisingly after five years, she recognized me. I sat at the new tasting bar, and we talked about the plans they had five years ago and how things had changed over the years, especially when COVID-19 yet. There
