Sparkling Wines Feature Week
Radenti R3 Sparkling NV, Tasmania, AUD $62
Claudio Radenti is an icon of the Tasmanian wine scene. He’s been around the industry for over four decades and can be considered one of the winemaking pioneers of the state. His wife Lindy Bull’s family are the owners of Freycinet Vineyard and Lindy, like Claudio, is a Roseworthy winemaking graduate.
Commencing in 1993, Radenti was the first ultra-premium sparkling produced on the East Coast of Tasmania. A blend of 70% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir, this is top-flight fizz that exudes class and sophistication.
A lovely creamy mousse and persistent, fine bead upon pouring. Complex and heady aromas of brioche, honey, baked apple, yeast and citrus. There’s plenty going on. The palate is rich and full of apple and grapefruit flavours along with stone fruit and a talcy minerality. Impressive length and mouth-feel. (Diam)
