The Texas International Wine Competition (TXIWC) will be held this March 22-23. This year’s competition will be the 7th annual one and held in historic downtown Buda, Texas. The competition helps to promote Texas wines and Texas wineries.
As usual, this year’s competition will bring a diverse panel of world-renowned wine experts from around the world to Buda, including Masters of Wine (MW), Master Sommeliers, Wine Educators, Certified Wine Judges, Award-winning Winemakers, and other industry experts for a two-day blind tasting of international wines from around the world.
Each wine is carefully evaluated on its own merit by a panel of experts in a blind tasting. The top award-winning wines are then compared to others of the same classification for the coveted Best of Class trophies. Best of Class Awards include Best Texas Red, Best Texas White, Best Red Blend, and other awards based on the number of entries.
Entering the competition is unique in that winemakers are only required to send three sample bottles with no further commitment when winning top awards. Local entrants in Texas also have access to in-person drop-off locations so you may not need to ship the wines, making the overall cost to enter relatively low compared to other wine competitions.
Registration is open now through February 18th at txiwc.com/wine-entry. Please use the code TXWINELOVER for 15% off your entry fee when registering.
