, Special James Bond anniversary whisky collection comes to auction

Bonhams is offering a limited-edition collection of The Macallan whisky released to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, as well as a 50-year-old single malt from the Red Collection and the oldest single malts ever produced, a 70-year-old Glenfiddich, as part of its online fine wine and spirit sale next week. The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release – Decades I-VI comprises a collection of six limited edition bottles, each representing a decade of the infamous British agent. The single malt whisky, which was  is presented in unique packs which feature original illustrations to denote the decade that each one represents. The collection has an estimate of £6,000-7,000. It forms a highlight of the online auction which runs from 11- 20 September, alongside an impressive line-up of rare wines and spirits. This includes a rare bottle of 50-year-old Macallan from The Red Collection which was bottled in 2020, and is presented in its original oak and Bridge of Weir-lined presentation case (estimate: £45,000-50,000). Other lots include a bottle of Bowmore, 52-Year-old-1965, one of 232 bottles that has been matured in a single Oloroso Sherry Cask. It is presented with its original wooden presentation case (estimate £22,000-28,000). A bottle of The Balvenie-56-year-old-1962 is also being offered, one of 90 bottles drawn from Cask # 5575, which is presented in its original wooden presentation stand and leather case (estimate £22,000-28,000).
