This large winery at Padthaway had been mothballed for years before it was bought by CW Wines in 2021. It’s happily back producing wine—and very good wine at that.
There’s a deep colour and a riot of briar, bramble and cassis/blackcurrant juice aromas, and the fruit does all the talking. It’s medium bodied and youthful, fresh and vivid to taste. Tannins are measured and provide the requisite firmness. A smart young cabernet in a primary-fruit style. (Screwcap)
