, Salinity and delicacy

Neudorf Rosie’s Block Moutere Albariño 2023, Nelson, NZD $33

From the organic Rosie’s Block near the winery, this is a tighter and more linear expression than usual with a delicacy and salinity which gives it great versatility with food. Neudorf has been championing albariño for a decade now and consistently produces one of the most convincing examples in New Zealand.

Delicate perfume, subtle and restrained; mineral, chalky and floral. White fruit and spearmint, tight and focused. The palate is linear, powdery dry and mineral, finishing with light-weight white peach, kernel and herb flavours. Softly salty, subtle and persistent. A quieter expression of albariño that is elegant, understated but with the balance to age in the near term. (Screwcap)
