Holm Oak Chardonnay 2023, Tasmania, AUD $40

Holm Oak is in the Tamar Valley and the winemaker/proprietor is Rebecca Duffy.

Bright, light yellow colour with an appealing bouquet of honey and lemon/citrus with fruit in the driving seat. Oak is discreet but there’s appealing artifact too, adding a hint of crème brûlée among other things. There are intriguing mineral overtones and the palate opens up with rich flavour and a slight impression of fruit sweetness, gentle and rounded, ample and accessible as well as refined in texture. A delicious wine that already drinks well. (Screwcap)
