Leconfield was established 50 years ago in Coonawarra and long-time senior winemaker Paul Gordon continues to deliver wines of absolute regional typicity as well as top value. This wine displays all that is seductive about cabernet franc. It has a beguiling perfume and a lightness and brightness on the palate that matches superbly with food.
Pretty and lifted aromas of violets, dark cherry, rhubarb, spice and cedar. The palate has lovely brightness and poise. Full of blue fruits, spice, bramble and a lick of leafiness. Tannins are firm, shapely and drying and the acidity delivers real snap and kick. Would love to see this in 7-10 years time. (Screwcap)
