Are you in need of a break from your normal day-to-day routine? Do you enjoy good wine? Have you lost a shaker of salt?
If you live in the North Texas area I have just what the doctor ordered – a relaxing two-hour vacation in Margaritaville, otherwise known as Pollo Rosa Vineyard and Winery.
The newest of four wineries in the Cleburne area, Pollo Rosa is located just a quick five-minute drive east of downtown Cleburne on FM 4. Owned and operated by Donna and Duane Patrick, the winery reflects a touch of each of their personalities. She has been affectionately referred to as the “Margaritaville” side of the family. He is all “Luckenbach.” Together they have created a unique venue with a cozy, whimsical, and 100% Texan vibe that immediately makes any guest feel at home.
Pollo Rosa, literally translated the “pink chicken,” held their grand opening on June 8, 2024, amid an enthusiastic crowd of friends and supporters. It was obvious that this was a much-anticipated opening. Donna and Duane are well known in the community as owners of the Sunset Hill Tree Farm in Alvarado, a supplier of Christmas trees and assorted fruit trees, as well as for their role in various community education programs such as a farm-oriented Learning Center and home school science classes. They are strong believers that local businesses should take an active role in their community. As Donna likes to say, “No business is an island.”
