Cabernet Franc is one of the most widely planted red grapes in the world. This is in part thanks to Cardinal Richelieu who lived in southwest France in the 17th century. He loved this particular blue-black grape so much that he transported vine cuttings from Bordeaux to the Loire Valley. Today, Cabernet Franc is found around the world, including Italy, which is where I enjoyed the delicious Tenuta Sette Cieli 2019 Scipio, Toscana IGT, the Please The Palate wine of the week.
