, NBA star Jimmy Butler tours Burgundy

Burgundy’s finest winemakers play centre stage in a long YouTube video posted on the popular channel of the Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. The video posted on the channel, which currently has more than three-quarter of a million subscribers, sees Butler visiting Burgundy and trying some of the best wines on offer from the region. Called Burgundy, France: wine tasting at its finest, Butler described the video as “Me and the boys got to explore the many vineyards that Burgundy, France has to offer. From castles to chateaus to sunflower fields. I’ll be around for the next harvest.”

In the video, Butler visits a large number of producers as he is taxied around the area, mainly on the Côte de Nuits, including Château de La Tour, where he took time out to dramatically ring the bell at the winery entrance and Domaine de l’Arlot, where Butler visited the cellar. At La Tour, he took in some of the old bottles, including hand-blown items from before the industrial revolution, where it was explained the bottle size was due to the size of one glassmaker’s single breath. In addition, Butler noted one very old bottle, which he said “Jesus could have drunk that m*****f*****r”. Also featured on the video was sommelier Chris Hoel from Harper’s Club, who Butler put to work on guessing the vintage of the wines at several locations. He also visited Domaine Dujac, where the party supped a 2002 vintage and Domaine Ponsot, Armand Heitz, Domaine Castagnier and Comte Liger-Belair. NBA
