Somm Foundation Receives $25,000 in Support Pouring of Chateau Montelena’s stunning 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Over 200 people descended on Napa Valley’s Meritage Resort & Spa to celebrate Cabernet Sauvignon. The event, earmarked to benefit the Somm Foundation raised over $25,000.

There were dinners, tastings and events galore over the three days celebrating Cabernet Sauvignon. One sold out event featured a Retrospective of Cabernet Sauvignon With Master Sommeliers Jay Fletcher, and Thomas Price. The session featured three iconic Cabernets from three very different terroir and vintages. Another highlight featured fourth generation vintner of Catena Zapata, Laura Catena MD. The session highlighted the rich differences of 5, 10 and 15 years in Cabernet. The wine featured, 1996, 2006, 2016 Freemark Abbey, Cabernet, Sycamore Vineyard, Napa. 2005, 2012, 2016 Joseph Phelps, Cabernet, Backus Vineyard, Oakville. 2006, 2011, 2016 Nicolas Catena Zapata Bordeaux Blend, Argentina.

Luminaries from across the country hosted sessions at Cabernet Classic

A nod to the Judgement of Paris, celebrated the icons of both Napa Valley and Bordeaux at the Legends of Bordeaux and Napa.
