There’s nothing better than Sunday Fundays in Dallas. Over the years, I’d had a lot of great Sundays at a variety of different places usually incorporating three things that are important to me – food, wine, and music.
With that in mind, I give you my top three (technically one requires two stops, so I’m claiming these as my three).
Katy Trail Station and Chaz Marie
A fun crowd at Katy Trail Station
This ultimate patio (mister fans and large cooling units help with Dallas’ hot summer days) brings together BBQ from one of Dallas’ top chefs, Kent Rathbun, who is a four-time James Beard nominated chef and restauranteur. He and his brother, Kevin, completed and won against Bobby Flay on Iron Chef. And he’s personally there most Sundays to welcome everyone and serve great BBQ.
At Katy Trail Station, you will often find the talented Chaz Marie singing with her husband, Quinten Hope (check their website to confirm they will be there). This powerhouse couple combines country, blues, R&B, and rock and roll. They are so much fun and Quinten is a fantastic guitarist.
Until the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission approves the liquor license, you can BYOB or there are a few free options like beer and wine (tip your bartenders and the band).
