Apogee Deluxe Vintage Rosé 2020, Tasmania, AUD $81
Produced from the Champagne triumvirate of pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay grown on winemaker Andrew Pirie’s own pocket handkerchief sized vineyard at Lebrina.
The colour is a very light salmon-pink that is very pretty to regard; the bouquet is dried rose petals, pot-pourri and a little quince-paste. It’s youthfully fruity, and there’s also rich fruit in the mid-palate underlined by a trace of sweetness that dries off cleanly toward the finish. Excellent balance—a really inviting drink. (Diam)
