This is not a wine that typically sees big discounts but that, no doubt, comes from its pedigree and history and high scores. We last offered the 2017 vintage of this wine and are delighted to bring back the 2020, which scores even higher, garnering 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and 91 from James Suckling. We score it right in that same range.
This is Pinot Noir (clones 115, 117, Calera and Pommard) from the estate Riverview Vineyard in the Salinas Valley of Monterey, California. The wine was aged for 13 months in 100% French oak.
Here’s some more on this special vineyard:
Our estate Riverview Vineyard is a 340-acre, cold-climate (Region 1), sustainably-farmed, benchland site that overlooks the Salinas River. It is situated on the east side of the Salinas Valley just below the Pinnacles National Park. It owes its vinous personality to decomposed granite soils, morning fog, great exposure and little protection from the strong winds off Monterey Bay
