As all Texas wine lovers know, Texas makes excellent wine, but the hard part now is getting the rest of Texans who love wine to realize that Texas does make wine and then to try it. Some Texas wineries are in distribution so you can find those wines at supermarkets, liquor stores, and wine bars. You can find some Texas wine at restaurants, but that is often rarer to find. It can be frustrating when dining at a nice Texas restaurant serving Texas farm-to-table food and the wine menu doesn’t have a Texas wine on it.
What can we do about that?
Texas Wine Lover resurrected and enhanced an old campaign in May 2023 to let restaurants know that you as a consumer would like to see your favorite restaurant carry Texas wine. Our card is not just for restaurants though since businesses such as liquor stores and wine bars should also carry and serve Texas wine. As the card says: Support Texas Agriculture, Drink Texas Wine.
Download your card today and print it out. Then when you are at your favorite restaurant or other business, use it to encourage the business to carry Texas wines. The more the owners and managers see that folks are requesting Texas wines, the more we’ll start to see our favorite wines on the shelves and menus.
