Geelong Feature Week
Scotchmans Hill Late Harvest Riesling 2024, Geelong, AUD $32
This wine carries 100 grams per litre of residual sugar.
As pale as can be, virtually water-white in the glass, with white flowers and lemon curd aromatics. Bright lemon-drop fruit on entry; sweetness fills in and lifts the floral components but there’s ample bright acidity to carry that sweetness and drive it long. The finish has a pleasing freshness to counter the lingering sugar. A wine that would suit light fruit-based desserts. (Screwcap)
