The 2023 vintage is presenting some stellar wines in Victoria. They’re more finely boned and exquisitely detailed, the best examples show the winemaker’s ability to work judiciously and not smother the fruit. Like this top Geelong chardonnay.
Brioche, sweet spices and golden delicious apples dominate the nose. The palate is buoyant; oak flavours dominate the flavour profile but it’s classy oak and it doesn’t shut down the impressive core of fruit. This is a premium-styled chardonnay that will appeal to those chasing both flavour and freshness.
