You may have heard of Featherstone Ranch in the Hill Country. Perhaps you knew it as a wedding venue that opened in 2015. Or perhaps you remember it as the site of the second Texas Wine Revolution, a rosé-only wine festival held in 2017. In 2024, Featherstone Ranch is rebranding as Featherstone Ranch Vineyards and is now a complete winery with a tasting room and vineyard.
The winery is located in Stonewall and is owned by Claudia and Tracy Clark with help from their family. Their son Christian Clark handles the tasting room while their son Mason is the vineyard manager. Being a new winery, they are not without help though as Pebble Rock Cellars’ owners Robert and Lydia Nida are also part of the team. Rob is the winemaker while Lydia consults with the vineyard.
The winery opened on October 29, and I visited during a recent trip to US 290. Upon arrival at the vineyard, memories of the wet Texas Wine Revolution came back as it rained considerably the day before the wine festival in 2017. It didn’t dampen the spirits of the attendees though as wonderful rosés were enjoyed all day. Since that time, a new pavilion had been built on the grounds which I learned later they call the Wine Lounge.
