Pepper Tree Cool Climates Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Coonawarra & Wrattonbully, AUD $23
A little premature development is frowned upon in wine shows but can actually be an advantage in a wine of this type and price-level.
Medium depth of colour, brick-red tints indicating some forward development, while muted cabernet character emerges on the nose, with pleasant berry and subtle leafy/tobacco nuances. It’s medium- full bodied and gently firm in structure, with quite good length. This is good early-drinking cabernet at the price. (Screwcap)
