Anon Pinot Gris 2022, Tasmania, AUD $25

This was produced by the Fogarty Wine Group (owner of Lowestoft, Deep Woods, Millbrook, etc) in Tasmania for Aldi stores.

A pale-ish straw colour introduces the spice and stone-fruit aromas of a cool-grown gris; the palate is lean and dry with a touch of poached fruit at the core, then a very dry, savoury finish where some tannin adds a touch of firmness. There’s more dimension to this than most pinot gris. (Screwcap)
