This is the ‘junior’ chardonnay from The Lane, the top labels being Heritage (AUD $100) and Beginning (AUD $55). It’s good value at $30.

Attractive nutty aromas suggest cashew and almond, with a slight smoky top-note, while the palate is rich and layered, with some oxidative hints adding extra character without detracting. Interesting wine—different, and tasty. There’s a touch of grip on the aftertaste that suggests food is in order. (Screwcap)
