From Piccolo Family Farms. The grape’s full name is grechetto di Orvieto. Its home is in the dry whites of Umbria but it’s also sometimes a component of the sweet Tuscan wine, Vin Santo.
Smoky reduction is the first aroma; with candied lemon-peel and honeysuckle behind it. The wine is intense, focused and delicate, beautifully balanced and poised, the finish clean, dry and refreshing. Straw-hay and dried herbs come later. A delicious dry white. (Screwcap)
