It is the end of one year and start of another, and for many, it comes with some time off to relax and unwind.
Whether you are with family, friends or loved ones, planning a beach or bach holiday, or if you are taking advantage of relative peace and quiet in the city after the holiday-makers have left, it is the perfect time to enjoy some nice cold sparkling wine. Below are some tips on making the most of your summer sparkling drinking.

For the purposes of this article, we are assuming that you, the reader, have a reasonable grasp of the different styles of sparkling wine and what distinguishes them from each other–méthode traditionnelle, Charmat/Martinotti, transfer, Asti method (as in Moscato d’Asti), méthode ancestrale, pétillant naturel–and move directly onto the ‘why’ rather than the ‘what’.
