We review the Blue Shell Sauvignon Blanc, available exclusively at Trader Joe’s.
100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Pays d’Oc wine region in Southern France.
After previously enjoying the Blue Shell Rosé, today we check out the Sauvignon Blanc. Both wines are available exclusively at Trader Joe’s and sell for $7.99. They are imported by Latitude Wines.
From Trader Joe’s:
Blue Shell comes from France (the original Sauvignon Blanc provenance) and brings its own quaffable of characteristics to the table (and glass).
100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown near the coast of southern France yield a pale-yellow wine with a nose that is fresh and floral. On the palate, it’s balanced, bright, and full, with notes of passion fruit, wild strawberry, pink grapefruit, and lemon. The finish is clean and crisp, including nice minerality that is not surprising when you’re considering French Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy a glass by itself, especially on a warm-ish day. Pair it with fresh green salads, grilled fish, and goat cheeses.
12.5% Alcohol
The 2022 Blue Shell Sauvignon Blanc is a bit muted at first pop and pour but with a little coaxing reveals citrus and some light floral notes along with a touch of tropical fruit.
Tasting the wine reveals lots of citrus notes, wrapped up in a pleasing mouthfeel. It might have just a touch of sweetness, but it also has good acidity to balance things out. It’s simple like the rosé but also easy to drink and refreshing.
It ends mostly dry on
