Top Value Wines Feature Week

When you are looking for a wine bargain the logical starting point is The Real Review Top Value Wine list. We have done the hard yards to help you get the best bang for your buck, but by doing a little extra research and possibly some thoughtful negotiation you might be able to get a wine shop or cellar door to sharpen their respective pencils even further.

Before making a bulk purchase it might be worth tasting the wine to make sure it hits the spot.

Wine prices listed on The Real Review are recommended retail prices (RRP) provided by the winery. Prices vary widely so we ask wineries to calculate a good average price—the sort of price you would expect to pay a reliable retailer who is not offering the wine on special and who doesn’t offer a discount for bulk purchases.

Here is an example. 2023 Rapaura Springs Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is on our Top Value list with an RRP of NZD $19.99. Using Wine-Searcher I found two Auckland stockists of 2023 Rapaura Springs Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. Glengarry Wines are offering the wine at NZD $18.99 while Fine Wine Delivery Company are selling it slightly cheaper for NZD $17.99. I phoned the store and asked if they offered discounts for bulk purchases. Yes they do. If I was prepared to buy six or more
