Marlborough will play host to the next Organic & Biodynamic Winegrowing Conference, held by Organic Winegrowers NZ.
The three-day event will run from 16th to 18th June 2025. The event will acknowledge the traditions of Matariki (the Māori new year) and the winter solstice. The event’s themes are ki raro, ki runga, ki te rangi; under the earth, above the ground, and into the sky.
The attendees usually span beyond just organic and biodynamic-practising wineries to include those who are curious about it and members of the trade who want to learn more about new developments in the space.
As always, it covers a broad church from nitty-gritty scientific research to the results of viticultural studies, cost analyses, field trials, market insights and case studies, as well as philosophy and tastings. Topics will include climate change, biodiversity, soil health, biodynamics and regenerative viticulture.
