Transylvania native Carolina Gelen has a knack for devising recipes that go viral as much for their simplicity as their innovation, like her vodka butter and an éclair cake. Her new debut cookbook, Pass The Plate, features 100 recipes that all feel like old favorites. She calls this “the Eastern European butter noodle, the dish you make when the thought of dinner just seems too overwhelming.” The combination of caramelized cabbage and onions, cracked pepper and the emulsified butter sauce is incredibly satisfying.
