Freeman Vineyards Secco Rondinella Corvina 2017, Hilltops, AUD $50

A selection of both Rondinella and Corvina has been dried slowly for up to 10 days, then added to the remaining harvest for fermentation.

Ruby red core with just a touch of brick red at the rim. Dried cherry, tobacco, and aged soy aromatics. Deep and weighty with a profoundly calm yet commanding presence on the palate. Black cherry fruit is bound with firm, fine-grained tannins that lift and drive the palate extremely long. As it lingers in the glass a deeper umami savoury note builds and unfurls bringing more character and complexity to the experience. A wine not to be rushed but savoured. (Screwcap)
