, Berry Bros & Rudd boosts classic malt whisky range

Berry Bros. & Rudd, the UK’s oldest wine and spirits merchant, which recently opened its first dedicated spirits shop, has refreshed its range of ‘Classic Single Malt Whiskies’ with the addition of age-statement whiskies for the first time.  The Classic Range was designed to show the “essence” of particular regions and cask styles, which have been chosen and aged in their own casks to BBR’s specifications. In addition to the existing softly peated Islay Traditional Cask and Irish Reserve Single Malt Irish Whiskey from the Great Northern distillery in Dundalk, it has added a “complex yet approachable” Speyside Traditional Cask 16 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (RRP: £100) along with an “indulgent flavourful” Speyside Sherry Cask 12 Year Old (RRP: £45). Berry Bros. & Rudd’s spirits curator Felix Dear said that the refresh marked a new chapter for Berry Bros. & Rudd. “It is the touchstone of our whisky offering for whisky explorers and connoisseurs alike, and testimony to our constant pursuit of excellence and innovation,” he said. “All four whiskies in the range have developed distinct intricate flavour profiles, perfect for everyday sipping. Designed to be complex yet versatile and will pair perfectly with food or if you’re feeling adventurous – great also in a cocktail.” The Classic Range are available from Berry Bros. & Rudd and other selected retailers now. Earlier this month, BBR opened its first spirit shop in London,  located at its No.1 St James’ head quarters close to its wine shop, following a 42%  growth in revenue
